Bread Machine Dinner Rolls

1 cup hot water
2 TBLsp margarine
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp salt
3-1/4 cups bread flour
2 tsp yeast

Place in bread maker on dough cycle. When finished take out, put on floured surface as this particular dough is quite sticky, and cut into 16 pieces (I use kitchen shears). Roll to form a ball (I never do this). Place on 2 greased cookie sheets or in greased muffin cups and let rise until doubled in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

Thanks, Wendi, for this recipe!

  1. My bread machine takes about 1-1/2 hours on the dough cycle. After this much time it really doesn't need to rise much longer. I have baked these rolls as quickly as 10 minutes after cutting them into 16 pieces, and have waited as long as 1 hour after cutting the dough. Doesn't seem to make that much difference.
