Peanut Butter Star Cookies

1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
bag of chocolate stars (or hershey kisses)

Mix first 4 ingredients, then add eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla. In separate bowl, mix dry ingredients. Add slowly to batter. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and press a chocolate star into cookie. Return to oven for 1 or 2 minutes. As with all cookies: let cool on pan for about 3 minutes before removing (or else they just break).
