¾ c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses
¾ tsp. salt
2 ¼ c. flour
2 tsp. soda
½ tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
Mix well, chill thoroughly. Roll in balls, size of walnuts. Dip top in sugar.
Bake 10-12 minutes at 350.
