The Cooper Chocolate Frozen Dessert

A big time Christmas favorite at our family get-togethers.

--2 sq. chocolate
melt and cool

--1/2 cup butter
--2 cups powdered sugar
cream and add to choc.

--4 egg yolks
beat until thick then add
--1 tsp. vanilla

--4 egg whites
using clean beaters, beat until stiff peaks form (mine took about 15 minutes, but my mom claims that her high-powered mixer can do it in four) and fold into the above mixtures along with
--1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (opt)

1.) Line 9x13" pan with crushed vanilla wafers.
2.) Add chocolate mixture and freeze
3.) add 1/2 gallon ice cream (vanilla is what we normally use) and put more wafer crumbs on top
