Hard Boiled Eggs

I believe there are several different ways to boil an egg. The reason I think that, is because during one family vacation me, my sister, and my mom all argued over which was the right way!!! But here is the way I do it, feel free to leave a comment and let us know your way!

Put the eggs in large sauce pan and cover with water, try to get about an inch of water above the eggs if possible. Heat the water until it is boiling and then turn off the heat and set the timer for 15 minutes. Once the time is up remove the hot water from the pan and cool the eggs with cold water. I like to store the eggs in the fridge at this time with the shells on to keep them fresh. When I need to use them I tap the end of the egg on the side of the sink and roll it along the side of the sink until the shell is all cracked up... and peel. I haven't figured out the best trick for making the shell come off clean. I think it must have something to do with the freshness of the egg, but please let me know if you have tricks on this!

  1. Peel the shell under running water, it helps remove more easily. Slide your finger between the shell and the egg and use the water's light pressure to help pull the shell away :)
