1 cup butter- not margarine
2 ½ cups flour
½ cup plus 2 Tbs sugar
½ c jam
Soften butter. In large bowl cream butter and sugar. Add flour and mix well. Add a little water if the dough is too stiff. Divide dough into 4 parts.
Roll each part into a strip 12" long. Put on a greased cookie sheet. Make a slight indentation down the center the long way. Fill with jam. Bake 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes until edges are slightly brown. Cut with pizza cutter while still warm.
ICING
1 Cup powdered sugar
1 tsp almond flavor
1-3 tsp water- or till drizzling consistency
This is a quick and impressive way to bring a treat to a holiday event.
