Ranch Crackers

2 Boxes (or Bags) Oyster Crackers

Empty Oyster Crackers into a very large bowl.

Mix together: (Stir well)

1 Cup Oil (I use Olive Oil)
1 Pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp. Onion Powder

Pour dressing over the crackers and mix well, making sure all crackers are covered. Stir again every 15 minutes or so, continuing to do this until crackers are dry.

When dry, put crackers into a closed container to keep them fresh. These are very tasty as a snack. My granddaughters love them.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Arlene, for emailing this recipe for the "Christmas Recipe Exchange Chain Letter!"

  1. After I posted the recipe, Arlene (the author) sent me a quick comment via email:

One comment that I have -- if you can find the small oyster crackers (sort of shaped like an octagon) these work better. The larger ones seem to soak up a little too much of the oil mixture. However, if you can't find them, you can always try making a bigger recipe of the oil. I don't know what area you live in, however, I am in the Pittsburgh area and Giant Eagle Supermarket has their own store brand of the smaller crackers. Keebler used to make them, however, they have been discontinued. I always make these at home and send them to my daughter's family because they live outside of NYC and I can't find the smaller crackers out there when I visit.

Good Luck and I hope you like them.

    Thanks!
    Arlene
