Tonight for supper we had some pre-packaged breaded chicken breasts that I dressed up with a tasty glaze.
- approximately 1 lb. of breaded chicken breasts
- 1/4 c. French dressing
- 2 Tbsp. apricot jam
- 1 Tbsp. dried onion
- 2 Tbsp. water
The chicken breasts should be baked according to the directions on the package. (Make sure to spray the pan with non-stick spray, as this should make clean-up easier later.) About ten minutes before the chicken should be done baking, pull it out of the oven and spoon the glaze over each piece. Then return the chicken to the oven to finish baking.
It's really that simple.
This can also be done with boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Just bake the chicken at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Then pull it out, spoon the glaze over the chicken pieces, and return them to the oven for an additional 10-15 minutes (until the chicken is baked through).
(This recipe comes from the book Quick and Healthy by Brenda Ponichtera.)
What kind of chicken do you use for this? Do you get a bag of frozen (like Tyson or Banquet) or is this something you purchase from the grocer meat counter? Or something else? It sounds really good. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe chicken that I used came from a bag of frozen chicken breasts - like Tyson or Banquet. However, as long as it is breaded, I don't think it would matter whether it came from the freezer section or from the meat counter.
